The Orton–Gillingham Approach is a structured, evidence-based instructional approach used for the assessment and intervention of reading and spelling difficulties, particularly dyslexia.
It is multisensory, explicit, systematic, and sequential, integrating visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile channels. Instruction is individualized and builds progressively from simple to complex language structures. The approach is widely used to support literacy development and inclusion for learners who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling.
